Ashkelon police arrested a 57-year-old local man on Tuesday, on suspicion of raping and molesting his three daughters over a period of many years, and of raping his 13-year-old granddaughter during the recent Rosh Hashanah holiday.

The suspect, who will appear Tuesday in the Kiryat Gat Magistrates Court for a remand hearing, denies the charges against him. Police intend to investigate the possibility that he also raped his other granddaughters.

The three daughters, all now in their thirties, complained to police that their father had raped and molested for years after one of them discovered that her daughter had also fallen victim to the grandfather. On hearing that her father had sodomized her daughter, the woman and her two sisters immediately contact Ashkelon police.

According to suspicions, the father began to molest his daughters when they were aged 10, and soon after started to rape them. In order to ensure their silence, the father paid the girls money.
